Victim: Diane Laverne Ross

Date of Crime: 08/07/1991

Case #: 91-107496

In the early morning hours of August 7th, 1991, an unknown suspect entered the residence of 120 N. 11 Mile Rd. located in Midland County's Lee Township and assaulted Mrs. Diane Ross while she was sleeping in her bed. She later died as a result of the injuries she suffered during the assault. This crime was particularly heinous in that Mrs. Ross had mobility issues and was unable to escape her attacker.

This assault was witnessed by a young boy who was a relative of Mrs. Ross, who described the suspect as being a man that was wearing a mask and had on dark clothing. The suspect fled the scene after committing the crime. The reason for the assault is unknown, although it is a possibility that Mrs. Ross knew her attacker or that he had been to the home on a prior occasion.

Detectives believe that persons have information that can lead to a break in this case and help bring closure to the relatives of Mrs. Ross. Midland County Sheriff's Office and the family of Diane Ross ask your help to assist in solving this crime!
